MAIN Coalition Statement on Potential Dakota Access Announcement

Following recent news that a decision on the Dakota Access pipeline could come “within days”, below is a statement from the MAIN Coalition. Today marks the 63rd day since the Obama Administration put a hold on issuing the already-approved final easement for the Dakota Access Pipeline – specifically the area abutting Lake Oahe – the final piece of the 1,172 mile pipeline.

“The Army Corps’ review is done, the election is over, the facts remain the same: The Army Corps of Engineers and the pipeline construction company met or exceeded every legal requirement for the permitting and construction of the Dakota Access pipeline.  The Obama Administration should immediately issue the already-approved easement so that this project may be completed and become operational.”
