The Morton County Sheriff’s Department issued a statement yesterday addressing the most recent activity in the ongoing Dakota Access Pipeline protest.
Below are some of the highlights law enforcement officials shared:
“To date, authorities have arrested 96 individuals for illegal protest activity. Of those individuals, 14 are from North Dakota 82 are from outside the state.”
85% of arrests represent protestors traveling from outside North Dakota.
“Wednesday evening that protesters planned to caravan to sites and set construction equipment on fire”
Arson does not represent peaceful activity.
“The school in St. Anthony was placed on lock-down.”
Community members are beginning to suffer more consequences of a protest that repeatedly gets out of control.
